WPPI Recap2 Shootout!

One of the few times I ventured out of the MGM hotel where the conference was, we did a shootout with Dan Fields and Stephen Knuth in the desert! so much fun! the models were gorgeous and they were amazing! It was absolutely freezing and they rocked it out! The shoot was mostly practicing with off camera flash- I think I like the natural light ones I got even more though! Thanks to Stephen for some super fun photos after the sun went down!!! one of me, us TX girls, and then the whole group!

Hope everyone had a great week- I had a blast in Vegas yet at the same time- I missed my lovely routine =) and my family missed me just a little bit too much! Glad to be back!

Vegas baby!!! so I’m a little behind on my posting due to being in Vegas at WPPI all this past week! It was an amazing time learning and growing and most importantly spending time with all my fellow photog friends!! We managed to break free for an hr one afternoon to get some fun shots of each other in the MGM courtyard/pool area! love these girls- they made WPPI an incredible first experience for me!

Ive taken lots of pictures of my good friend Erica- and these are by far my all time favorite!!! work it girl!!

Justin Hill

Justin is a local musician here in the Wichita Falls area and contacted me to do shots for his new album and website that will be coming soon- I cant wait to see them and I will definetely do a re-post to let you all know his new website is live! for now here is just a sneak peek of a few of my favorite images of him!

We had a great time batteling all the mosquitos but Justin was a champ and he kept me laughing the entire shoot!

Kyla {singer/song writer}

I had been looking forward to Kyla’s session for weeks! the weather was iffy but I traveled to Dallas anyways- optimistic about driving away from the cold and rain in Wichita Falls. Im almost there and of course it is just pouring on me! We press forward and right as Kyla and her man Ben pulled up it stopped raining! woohoo! all is good now! then I hit a pole! ha! thankfully no real damage was done but I couldnt believe myself! not a great start!

Kyla and Ben are so kind and Im sure as hard as it was they did not laugh their butts off at me! how sweet right! in fact Kyla even emailed me later to make sure my hubby wasnt too mad at me =) Super sweet people! and absolutely fabulous! Kyla was so nervous about modeling but I think she did a fantastic job- I love what we got and I hope we really pulled out her personality in these! She is in the process of getting a website together for her music career-When its up I will for sure share it with you b/c she has an amazing voice! We found this cute little place with origamis all over the ceiling! so much fun! It was a little windy but I love the movement and emotion it gives to the pictures!We ended our session on a running trail behind her apartment. If only we could have plugged in the keyboard and had a real concert!

Ever since Erica contacted me over a yr ago my life has been so blessed! Although she is typically my second shooter she has taught me so much and its been a blast having someone to grow and learn with in photography over the last year. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am if God hadn’t blessed me with her!

Alison & Tara Snow Shoot

Yesterday starting out with me realizing that Mothers Day Out was going to be canceled due to the constant snow falling from the sky…. I was bummed! I love staying hom with my kiddo but I also very much enjoy the one day a week that I can get some errands done, go to lunch and clean house with some peace and quiet. but THEN Alison put a message on facebook that she was wanting to do a photoshoot in the snow… why yes i do!! suddenly my day looked brighter and I couldnt wait to get out there and take pictures and be photographed! (the ones of me I plan to post soon)

Alison brought along a model -Tara… who seriously knows how to rock the camera! Since she was Alison’s model I decided to mainly get some shots of her shooting Tara and I just grabbed a couple of Tara. Then we put Alison in front of the camera =) I did Alison’s Senior Pictures not too long ago but she needed some new ones =)

Yesterday morning I had the funnest model! she is probably the most stylish 12 year old I have ever met! they brought some great props to play with including her favorite magazine , some bubble gum and of course bubbles! I love that at this age they still have that natural beauty before age starts making you think you have to pile on the makeup! she is so gorgeous and she can definetley pull off that ‘fierce’ look. I had the best time! thanks so much for coming to see me from Bowie!

Laguna Beach Meet & Greet Shoot

so this post is a little out of order… but thats ok! we all met up at the beach at BJ’s monday evening so we could all get together and get to know each other…take pics for new headshots and so forth… it was so much fun! Erica and I were an hr behind and in the husle of trying to make it with everyone I ran out of the hotel without my camera battery and memory cards- I felt like such a loser =) Katie wanted to mainly hangout and watch people so I took a lot of pictures of her first and then we all kind of just free for all took pictures of eachother… so much fun! sunset on laguna beach is so beautiful!
